My name is Liz, and I am starting in a graduate program for art conservation. This is a blog about my experiences.
I studied Art History in college, along with Chemistry and Spanish (as a minor and undeclared minor, respectively). I have always loved to paint and draw, so now I am returning to art making for graduate school. I also like to bake (I am obsessed with perfecting macarons), read (I am still working on Infinite Jest), listen to music(stereogum.com is my favorite source for new stuff), watch movies (I love comedies), and go to museums (I am a nerd, obviously).
Surprisingly (not-so-surprisingly), art conservation is not that easy to work in. Don't get me wrong, the people are nice and the work is fun. It's also very competitive (probably because the people are nice and the work is fun). This is a blog about trying to make it in conservation, both the cool things I get to do and the experiences I have both working and going to school.
